Introduction
Sonicrealms Racing are pleased to announce the Open Wheel League starting 27th January!
All races will commence at 20:30 UK time on Sundays. NOTE: our clocks move forward one hour on 30 March 2008 for summer time.
The server will made private at 19.00 UK time for practise and the password emailed to all participating racers. If you do not receive the password make sure you post here or use our Contact Us page and we will email/PM the password to you. This allows you 90 minutes to inform us of any problems.
We will be using the new Formula BMW car for the Open Wheel League with the updated tracks (Patch Y).

The event will follow this format:
20:30 (UK Time) Qualifying - (20 minutes)
21:00 (UK Time) Feature Race (40-45 minutes)
Qualifying and Points
On Saturday, 24 hours before the race, all participating racers are entered into a live Ventrilo & IRC draw and randomly assigned a server where they will both qualify and race. Qualification takes place in that server for a place on the grid on the same server. No racer need switch servers at any point. The draw will be exciting and you'll be anxious to know the result of the other race before you can start celebrating...
A racers finishing position is based on their race time. Results from both servers are combined, sorted and ordered by finishing time. Racers who 'Do Not Finish' still receive points, but are placed behind the last racer to finish on both servers, in order of laps completed.
The points system is based on the Nascar system (the 5, 4, 3 spread) which is as follows:

Even if there's a multi-car pile up, or you crash, and you're not racing for position on your actual server, you cannot take it easy, because you're also racing the clock, and the other server.
Live Server Lottery Draw
Join us on ventrilo or IRC to hear the live draw for the server sorting. The draw will also be made available here on our site, on our forum and emailed to all participating racers. The draw will decide which server you qualify and race on and most importantly, who you are racing. The Ventrilo server will also be available during league races.
Jason will draw numbered balls from a bag. Each number will be placed into a group, alternating between Server 1 and Server 2. Each number will be announced live on ventrilo & IRC. A second person (Tongey) will confirm, live on Ventrilo & IRC, the names of the drivers the numbers refer to, and which server they will race on.

Rules
There will be a lag lap at the start of the race. No aggressive driving or crashing. The race will restart after one complete lap.
Observe the blue flag rule/pass blue flaggers cleanly.
Clean racing at all times.
No abuse.
Do not drive the wrong way on the circuit.
Take care on pit exit.
No bump drafting.
No chatting during race. Points may be deducted dependent on severity of offence.
Minimal chat during qualification.
Spectate (SHIFT-S) if retiring, do not pit (SHIFT-P).
Results
Results of both races will be posted in the News area on our website and in our forum shortly after race completion. The results will include race statistics, LFS replay's and League Table.
Complaints/Protests
Do not make a complaint during a league race. Please continue to race as best you can, but be sure to save a replay before you pit or quit a race. If you have a complaint against another driver, please make a suitable post in our forum, or use our Contact Us page. Describe the incident and include your details, lap number or race time and the other drivers involved. We will investigate all complaints fairly.
