Post by: Turkey on May 12, 2015, 10:16:03 PM UTC
So I was speaking to Blub earlier and he is playing it and quite likes it.

Anyone else playing it?

Opinions?

Yeah, we had good time with Lit despite MP being a bit buggy.

Steam: boris.blb

Pros:
- Cars, tracks
- MP (once everything's working tho)
- load of crowded servers!
- Dynamic weather and shit
- Graphics

Cons:
- only thing coming to my mind is you can't hear others cars well
- some says physics are "arcadish" but it don't bother me
- MP bugs

Sounds promising...
More expensive than LFS, but what isn't ;)
If it's arcadey, that would really put me off but having full servers might compensate a bit!
Will think about it once (some day soon, argh) I upgrade the PC.

I joined their "founding" system way back when and tried it every once in a while. But I haven't tried any recent versions.
Now I'd have to pay the remaining 50% of the price to get the final version. Unlike Steam's Early Access, this system still wants money from you...
However, I'm not sure if I should buy it because I never liked it. It always reminded me of the NFS Shi(f)t series, which of course was made by the same studio. I don't really understand the hype around it.

Track accuracy is bad, physics were not so good and I can only imagine that online servers are full of morons.
The visuals are stunning, no doubt, but it never got me hooked regardless.

.. Imagine how pricless and stunning can be LFS, when only graph we will put on LFS engine ( prysics, modyfiacations, tyres etc. )
mayby some day dreams come true.

BTW some rich guy should put a real money to developers and LFS can grow up.

about project cars - don't played yes so will don't say a word ;)

Matt posted a good review:

Lackluster as expected.

Tried the final version today. It's definitely a lot better compared to the last preview version I tried.
But honestly, the main reason to even start it up is the visual quality. The driving and racing is not that good. I found myself not even finishing a race once I settled into a position and already checked all the nice replay scenes to take screenshots. It is mainly a screenshot generator and not a racing game ;)

Driving itself is fun but even without any assists there is always the feeling of a safety net helping you out.

The AI is overly aggressive and constantly bumps into you. You almost have to drive in the same manner, which is no fun. I'd say online racing is also a mess.

Cars are superb and very detailed. Tracks are ok but not accurate (compared to iRacing) and have some useless track side objects that don't need to be there.

Definitely not as much fun and nearly not as good as Assetto Corsa. But the visuals could be a motivation factor for some.

Good vid Slawter. Did you shot it with a go pro or something?

And good driving btw ;-) Feel free to join Litmanen or I some evening (boris.blb in steam if we ain't friends already). We had a couple of good sessions lately actually.

Thanks. Yes, I used a GoPro with the head strap.
I probably won't be joining you any time soon. My work schedule is just too intense at the moment. I even had to put iRacing away for almost a year now...

How is the multiplayer in this game btw?

It's quite good actually. Not flawless for sure but, Litmanen and I, had a couple of good races on those public lobbies. But I think it would be great for some private session or event.
